Module 4 Key Dates

Dear Parents/Carers,

After an action-packed half-term, I would like thank Mr Brake for launching Forest Schools in Year 1 and Year 2. This takes place every week in the Spring-term, in the school playground, in a specially set-up area next to the field. We look forward to other classes taking part in this during the summer term.

PALS

Thank you to PALS who organised a uniform sale and a warm-up to Valentines with the Doughnut sale. The Kripsy Kremes were a big hit – and after selling out, they made a whopping £250. Thank you to everyone who bought one.

Online Safety – Safer Internet Day

This year the theme for Safer Internet Day was ‘Too good to be true? Protecting yourself and others from scams online’. The children discussed different ways to look out for scams, how to protect themselves and to report it to a trusted adult if they had a worry. We also sent out a short parent survey to see how we can best support you – please click here to complete: Safer Internet Day Survey. At the start of each year we go through the Acceptable Use Policy with each class. You can find this on the school website here: Acceptable Use Policy.

Pupils are pictured gathered in the hall for an assembly on Safer Internet Day 2025.

National College have informative guides about different games and online safety and I will share these with you over the term for example: What parents need to know about children’s devices

Numbers Day

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who donated to the NSPCC on numbers day we raised a brilliant £155 and had a lot of fun with measuring – thank you for searching high and low for the heaviest potatoes and longest carrots! Here are the Year 5 winners!

Football Team

Congratulations to the school football team, we travelled to Thamesmead to play in the ESFA Pokémon 7-a-side finals. The team played brilliantly winning 3 matches and drawing in 2. Overall, we came in second place, but absolutely they were in first place for their team spirit, good manners and kindness to one another and to everyone they played against. Well done.

Egyptian Day

Year 3 had an incredibly immersive experience this week with their Egyptian day. They packed so much information about Egyptian life including; the number system, trading, farming, mummification and Egyptian homes all in a fun and hands on way.

Two pupils, a boy and a girl, are pictured smiling for the camera during Numbers Day at Leigh Stationers' Primary Academy.

Stationers’ Update

This term we were visited by Phillip Womack the author for Story Telling week. He did a whole school assembly and then two workshops with Year 5 and Year 6. The children were really inspired by his myths and legends and got lots of ideas for their own writing.

We have also had another bid awarded for class sets of headphones with microphones, which can be used across the curriculum in different lessons and also support using digital tools such as ‘read and write’.
